Preparing the Next Generation: Forward Foundation Invests in Student Skills

Apr 2, 2026

The Forward Foundation of Wisconsin continues to strengthen educational opportunities across the state through its latest round of grant awards, approving funding for four initiatives that support hands-on learning and student innovation.

Together, these grants represent an investment of over $20,000 in programs that span robotics, manufacturing, and technical education. Each project reflects the Forward Foundation’s commitment to preparing students with real-world skills and experiences.

The River Falls Robotics Booster Club will once again benefit from Forward Foundation support as it expands its LEGO League program, building on prior success and increasing student participation in STEM activities. Similarly, the KMLS Laser Bots Robotics Team continues to grow, now engaging more students and fostering interest in robotics and engineering.

In the area of skilled trades, the School District of Turtle Lake will upgrade essential equipment in its technical education program, ensuring students can safely and effectively learn welding and related skills. Meanwhile, the School District of Omro plans to enhance its metals program by purchasing a plasma table. This new equipment will enhance the district’s CAD makerspace, providing students with hands-on experience in precision design and modern manufacturing process.

Through these investments, the Forward Foundation of Wisconsin continues to make a meaningful difference, empowering schools, supporting educators, and equipping students with the tools they need for future success.
